Borne of a in-depth conversation with associate DJ/producer/multi-instrumentalist Ty Russell about live cocktail hour music for our social events clients, we assembled an exclusive trio who specialize in Brazilian Bossa Nova.

Joining Ty on drums are the exceptional Marlysse Rose Simmons-Argandoña on keyboards and Laura Ann Singh on vocals.

With this newfound group, we recognized the need for recordings of a live performance, showcasing their charisma and effortless talent.

We secured a picturesque location on the Eastern Shore of Maryland, and set to capture selections from their deep catalog of classic sambas. Marlysse’s keys are melodic and masterful. Ty’s drumming is understated and rhythmically in the pocket. And Laura Ann delivers her vocals in fluent Portuguese, bringing warmth and authenticity.

My role(s) were that of executive producer, director, show runner, and editor. Working with the terrific videographer Jack Anglada, we conceived and designed a multi-camera shoot with his SLR on tracking shots and three static iPhones running the Blackmagic Camera app.
